How to write this CV
State your subject and age group clearly
Put your subject or key stage in the headline, such as “Primary School Teacher” or “Maths Teacher”. The reader should see the level you work at at a glance.
Describe what you did for pupils
Instead of a general job description, write what you did: set up a support group, prepared extra materials, ran a project. Use a number only if you really know it.
Give qualifications and training with dates
Include your teaching qualification, graduation year and courses. Do not present an unfinished course as completed.
Show communication with parents and leadership
Parent meetings, progress reports and school events are expected responsibilities; add them in one short line.

Frequently asked questions
What should a newly qualified teacher CV include?
Education, placement and practice-school experience, volunteering and the materials you prepared. If experience is limited, put education first.
How long should a teacher CV be?
One page is enough in most cases. With long experience you can go to two pages with the most relevant parts first.
Should I add a photo?
Not if the advert does not ask for one. A photo-free template is a safe choice.
